Elon Musk Shares Image of Reusable Falcon 9 Blazing a Trail in the Night

SpaceX’s latest iteration of the Falcon 9 is searing its way through the sky. On Wednesday, CEO Elon Musk shared an incredible image from last week’s launch in California, the third time the company sent its new Block 5 design into space.

Starting this weekend, SpaceX is about to land a whole lot more rockets

Early Sunday morning, SpaceX is slated to launch its second Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket — the final and most powerful version of the vehicle the company plans to make. After launch, SpaceX will attempt to land the vehicle on one of its autonomous drone ships in the Atlantic.

New helium tank for SpaceX crew launches still waiting to fly

SpaceX is still working on a new, safer helium tank design needed for launches with astronauts, and the debut of the company’s upgraded Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket earlier this month did not count as one of seven successful missions in “crew configuration”.

The company's first-ever Falcon 9 Block 5 was scheduled to launch this afternoon (May 10) from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, on a mission to carry the Bangabandhu Satellite-1 communications satellite to orbit for the government of Bangladesh.

SpaceX set to debut newest Falcon 9 Rocket: 'Block 5'

The company determined that its first Falcon 9 "Block 5" booster is ready to go, after analyzing data from a routine prelaunch static-fire test that occurred Friday (May 4) at historic Launch Pad 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
