Several people have been injured after a car was deliberately driven into a crowd at a carnival procession in Germany.
The vehicle was deliberately driven into the parade in Volkmarsen, Northern Hesse,
police said, and the suspect is a local man who was arrested at the scene.
A large number of officers were called to the scene about 175 miles south-west of
Berlin on Monday afternoon.
The force said it could not immediately provide further details, but reports suggested up to 15 people had been hurt, including children.
Local media reported witnesses saying the driver went around a barrier blocking off traffic from the parade.
Police posted a statement on social media asking people not to distribute any footage of the incident, but instead send it to an “information portal” being set up to determine exactly what had happened.
