The show will be stopping at The Lowry in the winter and will play for a month from December 3, 2024, to January 5, 2025. The award-winning musical is debuting its first tour of the UK and Ireland (Image: Phil Tragen) Penned by Irene Sankoff and David Hein alongside director Christopher Ashley, Come From Away debuted on Broadway in 2017 before gracing the West End stage in 2019, earning a prestigious Tony and Olivier Awards. The musical highlights inherent goodness and connection, showcasing the extraordinary way individuals can come together and support one another during times of crisis. During a recent exclusive showcase for media guests, Come From Away revealed a selection of its songs, sparking excitement throughout the room. Attendees not only glimpsed the production but also engaged with the talented cast. Talking about the true-life story, Kirsty Hoiles, who plays Dianne and other characters, said: “They opened up their homes to everyone and I think it's a lesson everyone could learn from. "We currently live in a complicated and changing world but this is a community that was not fearful for one minute and assumed the best of everybody. It’s a beautiful message.” Who is the cast? Daniel Crowder, who plays Nick, Doug and others in the show, said: “It’s not a famous title but instead the show sells itself in its reputation. Our audiences have grown overnight with people coming back multiple times.” What will surprise people the most? “Firstly, I think you would be surprised by how funny it is and I do think people will really laugh during the show. It is so enjoyable,” Kirsty said.
