Manchester City’s chances of retaining the
Champions League this season have been rated with
Pep Guardiola ’s side the most likely to win the competition, according to a Supercomputer simulation. City booked their place in the quarter-finals last week by overcoming FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate . Goals from Manuel Akanji , Julian Alvarez , and Erling Haaland gave them a 3-1 win in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium , a repeat of the same result in the away leg. That win booked their place in Friday morning’s draw for both the quarter-final and the semi-final of the competition, where they were drawn out alongside Real Madrid. The first leg will take place at the Bernabeu on Tuesday 9 April with the second leg just over a week later. Manchester City Champions League clash have crunched the numbers with their Supercomputer predicting the likeness of each outcome in the Champions League . Their workings give City a 64.8 percent chance of getting past Real Madrid and into the semi-final of the competition, just as they did in the semi-final last season. The numbers then show City have a probability of 38.7 percent chance of making it to the final of the competition. If they get past Real Madrid then City will face the winner of the quarter-final between
Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the semi-final. If they make it through that, then they have been given a 33.6 percent chance of lifting the trophy for the second time in two years. That makes Guardiola’s side by far the favourites with
Paris Saint Germain next with a chance of 15.4 percent. Arsenal are next with their chances rated at 12.1 percent, the same as PSG, but the French giants have a smaller chance of making it through their quarter-final. The team least likely to win the tournament is Atletico Madrid, who have been given just a 3.8 percent chance. Get City transfer updates on WhatsApp!
