Leroy Sane has hailed
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and believes he made "huge improvement" while working alongside him at
Manchester City . The Bayern Munich winger was at City when Arteta assisted
Pep Guardiola , but the duo will meet as opponents in the quarter-final of the
Champions League . The Gunners host Bayern in the first leg on Tuesday. Sane has recovered from a groin problem to be available for the tie and will be looking forward to seeing Arteta again, having felt the Spaniard had a major impact on his career. German international Sane left City in July 2020 after four years, 135 appearances, 39 goals and several major trophies. "It was great. I was pleased to work with him because he actually really helped me at City. We had a lot of individual talks about how I can improve, strengths, my weaknesses, we worked a lot," Sane said. Watch the

I still keep that in my mind and put that in my game – positioning, how to behave in certain positions. I’m thankful." Since moving to Bayern, Sane has become an integral member of the side. After recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury, the 28-year-old endured a steady first campaign before getting back to his best, scoring 14 goals in back-to-back seasons for the dominant German champions. It hasn't been the most successful season for Bayern to date, however. They currently sit 16 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga table with six matches to go and will miss out on the title for the first time since 2012 barring a miracle. Speaking ahead of the trip to Arsenal , Tuchel said: "Arsenal are currently the best team in the Premier League and that is deserved, all the data shows that. "They are in great form and have been at the highest level for the last two seasons so it’s a massive test for us. I'’s the second year for them where they’re playing at this really high level, they have so much energy on the pitch and they can keep it for a long time. "We know about our own strengths and how we want to cause them pain. We know the Champions League is a competition where we have more experience over the last few years.
