is one of the
Hollywood icons to have AI nudes for sale on eBay – without her consent. The Barbie star has been targeted by users of the platform who are selling naked images generated by
Artificial intelligence of major stars, including Margot, , and
Selena Gomez. One seller boasted up to 400 pictures for sale, with explicit snaps selling for around $7. Forbes flagged the illegal listings to eBay, which prohibits “AI generated or Photoshopped nude or sexually suggestive images of public figures” under its guidelines, though it does allow items featuring nudity in the arts and collectables categories. eBay spokesperson Trina Somera told Forbes that the site employs “a mix of AI technology, professionally trained eBay investigators and sweeps of the marketplace” to search for these banned items. She added: “Listings with AI-generated or photoshopped celebrity adult images that violate eBay policies will be blocked or removed. Users found attempting to list prohibited items may face consequences up to, and including, a permanent suspension.” Fans have been reacting to the news online, with one X user branding it “out of control”, while another fretted: “AI is gradually taking over everything.” A third confessed it’s “super disturbing”, while someone else said: “People are disgusting, and live in a fake world and people give it to them.” It comes after Bad Blood hitmaker
Taylor Swift was targeted in a vile deepfake scandal, which saw pornographic AI-generated images of the songstress circulated on
Social Media. The images showed Swift in sexually explicit positions and got more than 27million viewers before the account posting them was suspended. X searches for Swift’s name were banned from the platform after the images went viral, with a message instead telling users: “Something went wrong. Try reloading.” The hashtag #ProtectTaylorSwift also began trending, with one account acknowledging: “It's great that Swifties have got the biggest pages spreading her deepfakes banned, but they should never have had to deal with this in the first place. “We can protect Taylor Swift and *everyone else* from the threat of deepfake sexual imagery. We're here to *ban* deepfakes." Even the
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre issued a statement, which read: “The circulation of false images of Taylor Swift are alarming. We know that incidences like this disproportionately impact
Women and girls. “POTUS is committed to ensuring we reduces the risk of fake AI images through executive action. The work to find real solutions will continue." Taylor – along with Margot – never addressed the fake images.
