Whenever animals are invited into the This Morning studio, the results are usually shambolic, whether it’s hyperactive skunks, a python on the loose or Brenda Blethyn’s over-friendly pooch.

Thursday’s edition of the ITV show proved no exception, when hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby became better acquainted with a pair of alpacas.

While introducing the show at the end of Lorraine, Phil introduced the host to alpacas Pete and Spitfire over video link, with Holly admitting her co-presenter had already got on the wrong side of one of them.
“You say [they’re] gorgeous, Lorraine, but Pete just spat in Phil’s face,” Holly revealed.Phillip was then seen telling the offending alpaca: “Don’t do it again! Once is OK, twice is unacceptable.”
Through hysterical laughs, Holly then addressed the This Morning producers, saying: “Can we have a few days with no animals in the studio please?”We're joined today by Pete and Spitfire the alpacas... this could get interesting!#ThisMorning@Schofe and @hollywillspic.twitter.com/slR3cJLVX5— This Morning (@thismorning) February 6, 2020It’s been an especially ridiculous couple of weeks for This Morning, with Holly and Phil finding themselves at the centre of a truly iconic moment when an 80-year-old guest took oversharing to a new level, letting slip details of her first night of passion with her 35-year-old fiancé.
A few days later, the duo struggled through a live broadcast after a night of celebrating their 10th win in a row at the National Television Awards.
Last month, they were also unable to control themselves when one viewer won a trip to Edinburgh as part of a phone-in competition, only for it to emerge she already lived in the Scottish capital.
