Lacey Turner has returned to the soap. Making a surprise return to the square, the 31-year-old was apparently filming episodes for her latest storyline as Stacey Fowler.
At the moment Stacey’s character is embroiled in more drama than you can poke a stick at, after she bludgeoned Phil Mitchell (played by Steve McFadden) and left him for dead. Metro.co.uk understands that Lacey returned to film a few scenes for one episode. She is not back permanently and will still be taking maternity leave. Currently on the run with Martin (Jon Peyton-Price), will her short return see her visit family in secret or perhaps hand herself in? The scenes are set to air in November, with a show insider telling Daily Star her return will be gradual: ‘Initially, it will be a short stint to reintroduce the character and then she’ll be back full-time a few months later.’
There was much celebration to be had when Lacey welcomed Dusty alongside husband Matt Kay last month. Her road to motherhood had been marred by previous pregnancies sadly ending in miscarriage. Speaking about her new little bundle of joy earlier this year, Lacey said: ‘I can’t wait to nurture our baby – we’ve dreamed of having a family for so long. ‘When you’ve lost babies all you care about is the heartbeat – we’ve had about 12 scans.’
She previously revealed her fears she had done something wrong in the past to lose her babies. The 31-year-old said: ‘My whole world crumbled and I couldn’t understand it. I didn’t know anybody that had been through this. I didn’t understand why I felt so sad about something I’d never met.
‘I thought what did I do? You sort of think, was my steak not cooked properly or did I lift the box? You drive yourself insane about all these things you might have done.’ The news of her return comes just days after Lacey lost her beloved dog Dexter. Describing the Labrador ‘the best fur brother’ to little Dusty, she shared pictures of the dog as she posted a poignant tribute to her pet. Lacey wrote: ‘My handsome boy!! I cannot believe I’m writing this, I am heartbroken but so grateful that I got the pleasure of loving you for 11 whole years. ‘You really were the bestest friend a girl could’ve asked for! ‘The most loyal and kindest dog I ever knew. A gentle giant. A true gentleman. ‘The best fur brother even if only for a short time.’
‘I will tell her how much you loved to lay next to her,’ she captioned an upload of baby daughter Dusty lying alongside the pup. ‘My gorgeous boy I miss you so much already,’ the BBC star continued. ‘Your cuddles were like no other, if I could hold you forever I would! My little family won’t be the same without you.’ She added: ‘Thank you for loving me for all those years! I love you always! Sleep tight handsome boy.’
