Fortnite Birthday Challenges are not showing up for fans on PS4 and Xbox One, with Epic Games confirming a delay to the release.

Having hyped up their launch earlier this month, it appears fans will be waiting a little longer to complete the new Fortnite Birthday Challenges.
These new tasks are open to everyone and will offer up unique rewards to those who can complete them.
The limited time in-game event allows fans to earn unique birthday cosmetics by hunting down birthday cakes, as well as completing quests in-game.
The in-game celebration last until August 7, which is good news as they have been officially delayed.
The Fortnite Birthday Challenges have not been showing up for fans in-game, and Epic Games have been forced to push back the launch.
From what has been shared on the subject, a technical glitch means that these new tasks will not be available to complete until tomorrow, July 25.
Fans in the UK should expect them to go live at around 1am, BST, on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Mac and Mobile iOS.
Here’s the latest from the development team, who confirm: “It looks like the Birthday Challenges are late to the party for some Battle Royale players.
“They'll arrive when the Store refreshes at 8pm Eastern Time (0000 GMT).”
The good news is that Epic Games have already confirmed all the unlockable prizes fans can receive by completing the challenges.
More information on both can be found below on the new Birthday Challenges:
  • Deal 1,000 damage to opponents to unlock the Fortnite Birthday! Emoticon
  • Dance at different birthday cakes to unlock the Happy Birthday! Spray
  • Play 14 matches to unlock 5,000 XP.
  • Complete all 3 challenges to earn the Birthday Cake Back Bling
Epic Games have also provided a few changes to the game away from these new tasks to help celebrate the game’s birthday.
Fans can now find birthday cakes placed around the map with consumable slices next to them.
These Cake slices give +5 health and +5 shield instantly when consumed, providing some critical lifelines on the island.
Eagle-eyed players will also notice that the Battlebus and Supply Drops have been decorated to celebrate the game. And Battle Royale isn’t the only area with Birthday rewards.
Fortnite Save the World players can complete the Fortnite Birthday questline and earn the Birthday Brigade Ramirez Hero.
Birthday Llamas have also been unleashed, which can contain Heroes and weapons from every event this year (not including quest rewards).
It has also been confirmed that founder's pack owners will receive the legendary Warpaint and Rose Team Leader Outfits in Battle Royale as part of today’s Fortnite update.
And while fans have a set of bonus challenges to complete, this won’t affect the ongoing season 5 battle pass.
And like we have seen in the past, the new Fortnite week 3 challenges have leaked online.
It should be noted that while most of the seven newly leaked challenges will likely remain the same, some might change before Thursday.
Epic Games sometimes switch things up to keep players on their toes, knowing full well most fans read the leaked content earlier in the week.
And from what has been found, it looks like it will be less finding all those basketball hoops, and more about hunting down battle stars using Treasure Maps.
The leaked Fortnite challenges for week 3 can be found below:

  • Destroy specific targets (?/?)
  • Use a Launchpad (0/1)
  • Search Chests in Fatal Fields (0/7)
  • Follow the treasure map in Flush Factory (0/1)
  • Explosive eliminations (0/3)
  • Eliminate Opponents in Haunted Hills (0/3)
As you can probably guess, Epic Games will need to expand on the “Destroy specific targets” challenge when they release it later this week.
So it’s currently unclear what fans will need to hunt down in-game, which could include any number of objects.
