NORTH Korea has been hit by an earthquake amid fears that Kim Jong-un is testing more missiles as tensions soar on the Korean peninsula.
The tremor happened in the Kilju area in the in the North Hamgyong province and was detected by the South Korean meteorological agency and China's official Xinhua News Agency.
The earthquake measured 3.4 on the Richter scale and has raised fears that North Korea is testing its missiles again.
China’s earthquake administration said it had detected the quake that was a “suspected explosion” raising fears the hermit state had conducted another nuclear bomb test.
The head of the nuclear test monitoring agency CTBTO has said that its analysts are “looking at unusual seismic activity of a much smaller magnitude” in North Korea.
Previous quaked from North Korea have been down to nuclear tests by the state.
The earthquake was detected close to where North Korea’s Punggyeri nuclear site is located.
South Korea’s meteorological agency said it was analysing the earthquake and they believe it could be a natural tremor because no sound waves for a man-manse earthquake were detected.
Tensions have continued to rise since North Korea carried out is sixth nuclear test, which prompted further sanctions from the UN.
North Korea's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho has warned that Kim could consider a hydrogen bomb test over the Pacific.
The secret regime has accused Donald Trump of “daydreaming” if he thinks the country will quit their nuclear campaign.
President Trump has warned that he would not hesitate to “totally destroy” the rogue state, which has provoked outrage this year with several missile launched and nuclear tests.
The US leader has said if he or his allies were poked enough, he would launch an attack on Kim’s kingdom.
However, North Korea continues to ignore these threats.
