Nike might have just revealed the new shoe logo for San Antonio Spurs rookie sensation Victor Wembanyama . The shoe brand couldn’t have chosen a better time to unveil it, as it did so with a commercial during the solar eclipse on Monday. Texas.” Obviously, it’s referring to San Antonio. It then quickly panned to an alien logo combined with what appeared to be
basketball. As the Spurs faithful and NBA fans would know, the “Alien” reference is for Wembanyama–a nickname that has stuck with him ever since
LeBron James called him that instead of a unicorn even before he got drafted. Besides, Wemby did provide hints that it’s going to be his logo when he debuted his new “Alien” Nike GT Hustle 2 PE last February. Apparently, he drew the “alien” part himself. It will be interesting to see what Nike has in store for the Spurs rookie . Wemby has yet to release a signature shoe, though there have been reports the brand could do so in May.
