It marked the last time the late star will appear on television. The much-loved Lily Savage icon sadly died in March last year from sudden cardiac arrhythmia, aged 67. Fans became emotional as they saw him give his very last piece to camera in the programme which aired on Sunday, April 7. Animal-lover Paul paid a visit to Thailand's biggest wildlife hospital where he communicated with elephants in Laos for the final series. Someone else added: "Even the Elephants knew just how special Paul was and the empathy he had for animals and it's a special memory that, thankfully, they'll never forget." The comedian died "peacefully" according to his widower Andre Portasio, who recently opened up about the star's sudden death. Speaking to the Mirror , Andre said: "He left to get some tea, and I heard this loud bang. But because the house is big and old, I didn’t think of anything at first. “I walked to the kitchen to start putting some food on, and I started taking things out of the fridge. And all of a sudden, I could see him lying on the floor." In ITV's recent documentary The Life and Death of Lily Savage, Paul's daughter Sharyn Mousley, 49, opened up about life with her dad. "I was about seven, and I was having a birthday, and my dad said, ‘Oh, I’ve got a great surprise for you!'" she said. "He swallows this fluid, and then starts fire-eating in my mum’s little flat. And then there was all scorch marks on the ceiling, all the girls were screaming: ‘Ahh there’s a fire!’ I was mortified! I’m seven, I wanted like, a clown!"
