King Charles confirmed he and Queen Camilla will attend the annual Windsor church service to mark the holy weekend. However, the monarch has withdrawn from most public duties amid his treatment for cancer, as per the advice of his doctors. However, with Princess Kate also undergoing cancer treatment, she and Prince William, along with their three kids, George, Charlotte, and Louis, will not be at the service or the celebrations. She started many of the traditions still followed today. But a royal expert thinks King Charles might get rid of one of these rules, reports the Mirror . Now Charles is in charge, there have already been some changes in how the royals do things. Even his candour about his health problems is very different from how his late mum would have handled it. One change could see the royal children sit down for Easter dinner with the rest of the family, according to one expert. Read on for traditional Easter celebrations the royal family typically follow. One such tradition is enjoying hot cross buns and a tasty fish dinner on Good Friday. "Easter Court was alive and buzzing when the whole family came to Windsor in those days," shared ex-royal chef Darren McGrady shared with OK! . "We were busy making Hot Cross Buns for breakfast on Good Friday and the kitchens were full of hustle and bustle." Darren also revealed hake was on the menu for Good Friday dinner. Chocolate treats Prince William reportedly "terrified" cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice (Image: UK Press via Getty Images) No Easter celebration is complete without chocolate - and it seems the royal kids get their fair share during the holiday. Darren also remembered a year when a chocolate prank by a young Prince William left his little cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, "terrified". He decided to create a Hickory Dickory Dock nursery rhyme-themed chocolate egg and sent it up to the nursery. He explained: "It had a clock on the top striking one and a sugared mouse peeking out of a mousehole." "We sent it up to the nursery on the silver tray, but 15 minutes later the Footman brought it back. He said, 'Nanny asked me to return this. Prince William has just stood on a chair and bitten the mouse's head off, frightening Beatrice and Eugenie.'". Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Church outing Prince William, the Princess of Wales, Prince George and Princess Catherine leaving Easter service in 2022 (Image: Getty Images) On Sunday, many members of the Royal Family will attend a church service at St George's Chapel. In 2022, William and Kate led the royals at the service and brought along their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the first time. Other attendees included the new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Lady Louise Windsor, James the new Earl of Wessex as well as Mike and Zara Tindall with daughter Mia. After church, the royals usually have a breakfast of eggs and exchange small Easter gifts. After returning from church, the royals typically sit down to a hearty roast dinner - usually lamb. However, according to Ingrid, other menu items, all sourced from Royal estates, could include venison, pheasant chicken, spring vegetables, new potatoes, carrots, salmon caught in the River Dee and roast ham. Royal writer and boss of Majesty Magazine shared with The Sun: "They will all have dinner together but not the young children they will eat in the nursery dining room." "The Queen always said until they could hold a knife and fork properly they could not eat at the table, but Charles might have relaxed that rule a bit. But dinner is only for grown-ups."
