Chris Tarrant has teased that he has no plans for a TV comeback, with him having now opened up about what he would rather be doing than working away in a studio. The broadcaster, 77, is best known for having fronted shows like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? , from 1998 to 2014, and Tiswas, from 1974 to 1981. He's also a former host of the radio show Capital Breakfast , having been part of its presenting line-up from 1987 until his departure in 2004. Speaking to the Daily Star , he said: "I spent 50 years of my life in studios of one sort or another. I really don't want to go back and do all that again. I certainly don't want to do a game show again or chat show or anything like that." The outlet adds that he "only signs up for shows that he's really excited about". Chris added that podcasts have become popular lately, though suggested that he isn't particularly interested in doing one himself. He said: "Everyone is doing a podcast, but there are so many other things I'd rather be doing. Even with shows that I like, I think 'I can't be bothered'. I'm just not interested." At one point in his career, Chris was hosting the ITV quiz show and fronting Capital FM's breakfast show. It meant early starts for the presenter, who told the outlet that he was "knackered" at the time and wouldn't be up for that now. Last chance to get Sky TV and
Netflix free as deal ends in hours Chris Tarrant has spoken about his career and teased that he doesn't fancy fronting a TV game show again ( Image: ITV) He shared: "For 17 years, I was getting up at 5am and crawling into a studio for a 6am start. I did stuff like that for donkey's years. It's almost brainless in a way. I'd get up, go to work on the radio, then off to do Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and then went home and slept. Then I'd get up and do it again. It was a tremendous time. It was a great time in my life. But we were all knackered." It's been teased that he has no intention of working in such conditions again, with him instead enjoying quality time with loved ones now. Chris said: "These days I'm catching up with a lot of time with people I love. I've been to Borneo and we took the kids on safari in
South Africa. It was marvellous." During the interview, he added that he's at a stage in his life where he wants to be doing activities he enjoys. He shared recently: "This sounds horrible, but I've been to so many funerals of
Friends over the past two or three years." Chris added about his approach to life at the moment: "So I just want to really [have] the time I have to do things I enjoy. I don't need to work and I'm actually really enjoying now for the first time really having some time to do what I want." Follow Mirror Celebs on TikTok , Snapchat ,
