police were called to New Chester Road in the Rock Ferry area of the Wirral after reports of gunshots being fired on the main road. Officers got a call at 10.30pm, but they think the
shooting happened 25 minutes before that. A video from a Ring doorbell, which lots of people have shared on
Social Media , shows a man running for his life while another person seems to shoot at him with a gun. The scary event happened across the road from where the video was taken. When the ECHO got to the scene, part of New Chester Road, which is a main road connecting Birkenhead to Hooton, was blocked off. Lots of officers were inside the blocked-off area. People who had left their homes within the blocked-off area and wanted to go back were not allowed to by the police. One woman had to wait for a few hours to go back home because she couldn't get past the blocked-off area. Three buses were forced to change route after a street was locked down as police hunt a

They were also checking CCTV footage as they went door-to-door to speak to residents. Armed response units, forensics and dog handlers were also spotted at the scene as police sealed off the road. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson said: "Our initial enquiries suggest that this was a targeted incident, and we're looking to establish the full circumstances and find those responsible. If you live in the area or were passing by and saw, heard or captured anything, including anyone running away from the scene, please come forward.
