golf League (TGL) will now launch in 2025, but with major changes after an unfortunate incident forced them to postpone its debut season. TGL was set to kick off in January, but building work on the SoFi Center arena in Palm Beach Gardens had to stop right near the end. A huge storm tore apart the dome that was supposed to cover the league, and a power cut made the structure collapse. As a result, TGL's debut season had to be canceled. But TMRW Sports - and McIlroy's company behind the project - has confirmed the league will now start on January 7, 2025. It will get a big marketing boost from

Football playoffs. However, the dome idea has been ditched. Instead, a steel-supported structure will be built at Palm Beach State College. Construction will start soon after the school's board of trustees gave the go-ahead earlier this month. New pictures of SoFi Center, which will have 1,500 seats for fans, have been released. TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley said: "As we plan the 2025 launch of TGL presented by SoFi, we now have the first three Tuesdays in January circled to introduce sports fans to this new form of team golf." "January is a tremendous time of year for fans looking for primetime sports and TGL's launch will complement the start of the PGA TOUR season and take advantage of ESPN's promotional machine across their coverage of the NFL and college football playoffs. "We're grateful for our tremendous partner SoFi, who shares in our vision to harness tech to create new approaches within traditional institutions. As construction proceeds on SoFi Center, we're eager to introduce sports fans to TGL as we focus on the league's debut this coming January." TGL will have six teams from different cities across the
United States, with four players on each team. The players will play on a 97-yard field, hitting longer shots into a 3,000sqft simulator screen. Shorter shots will be played from a special short-game area, with a moving floor that lets the green's landscape change. McIlroy will play for Boston Common Golf Club, owned by Liverpool's caretakers, the Fenway Sports Group. Woods is the co-owner and captain of Jupiter Links Golf Club. Justin Thomas, Rickie Fowler, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele are some of the other players participating. However, Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, new members of LIV Golf, have left open spots on the roster after leaving the PGA Tour for the breakaway league. TGL is designed for TV and will feature a 40-second shot clock to keep the game moving. A referee will be present and all players will be mic'd up for viewers at home.
