Oprah Winfrey reveals more about her weight loss experience with weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, after using medication to drop 85lbs. She defends these weight loss drugs in her new special ABC Special, An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution. This reveal comes after the TV host icon disclosed about that she cut ties with Weight Watchers' Board of Directors. She had a partnership with the brand since 2015 when she gained a 10% in the company. During the special, she teared up as she explained how she felt responsible for her obesity. "There is now a sense of hope, and you no longer blame yourself," she said as she got choked up. "When I tell you how many times I have blamed myself because you think, ‘I’m smart enough to figure this out,’ and then to hear all along it’s you fighting your brain." "I decided [to leave the WeightWatchers board] because this special was really important to me, and I wanted to be able to talk about whatever I want to talk about," Oprah said. "And WeightWatchers is now in the business of being a weight-health company that also administers drug medications for weight. I did not want to have the appearance of any conflict of interest." She goes on to talk about her struggle with the judgment from herself and others that came with weight loss and her weight in general. "It was public sport to make fun of me for 25 years," The 70 year old mogul told PEOPLE. "I have been blamed and shamed, and I blamed and shamed myself." She also added how before she even used the prescription for herself, she recommended it to others. "I was actually recommending it to people long before I was on it myself," Oprah said. "I am absolutely done with dealing with shaming from other people," Oprah said in a teaser clip of her special, shared on Good American America today. She emphasized throughout her special about obesity not being a character flaw but it's a disease. Doctors such as Dr. Jen Aston made an appearance in the special to talk about obesity further.
