Jurgen Klopp basked in what he believed to have been the greatest half his
Liverpool team had produced against
Manchester City. The way that his injury-hit side got back into the game against the
Premier League champions and then put them under the Anfield 'tsunami', as
Pep Guardiola described it , was, Klopp said, one of the best moments of his coaching career. Whatever the tiredness that has led to him walking away from one of the biggest jobs in
Football, the Liverpool manager is still able to conjure up some of the best performance in the division. Whether or not Klopp ends with another league title remains to be seen though. Liverpool have enjoyed more than their fair share of results against Guardiola's side over the last eight years but have just one Premier League to their name against City's five. Arsenal after Man City draw When asked about the title race with 10 games to go and one point separating the top three teams, Klopp seemingly had history in mind. After talking up the strength of Arsenal, all he felt he needed to say for the team he had just earned a draw against was that "City is City." Ten letters and three words that really don't say a lot yet speaks resoundingly for how many feel in this title race. When you are assessing the final standings, one glance at the club that have won five out of the last six titles - usually with outstanding results in the crunch period of the campaign - is all anyone needs not to write them off. That experience may yet prove crucial, especially given the way Arsenal folded last season under pressure from the Blues. However, despite the lurking threat of the reigning champions the usual menace is not quite there. It feels ridiculous to say of a team that have picked up 18 wins and three draws in all competitions since being beaten by Aston Villa in early December and are still on course for a Treble, yet City fans are still waiting for the sort of landmark win this year that sends shivers around the league. The consensus when the teams came out was that there had never been an opportunity to beat this Liverpool side, only for Guardiola to feel it necessary to take an angry Kevin De Bruyne off to escape with a draw. Whatever everyone else is seeing from City, many fans who have watched them all season aren't quite there yet as the wait for a victory against a club in the top five goes on. Despite that, as Guardiola pointed out, they are still there in contention and will be expected to make their home advantage count against Arsenal at the end of the month. It still isn't clear whether the City that have built up such a reputation are also this season's version of City. As long as Klopp and others think that they are though, it can only help the defending champions to push towards another title.
