We did it. and will continue the trend toward spring weather through at least Saturday. After what will be a chilly start early Friday with frost in some outlying areas, Portland should see mostly sunny skies with only scattered thin clouds through the afternoon. The high will likely reach about 62 degrees. The National Weather Service says to expect clouds to thicken later in the day and through the evening, but well after the sun has done its
Job of heating up the metro area. Saturday will start out partly sunny with calm winds. There may be some high clouds around, but they shouldn’t stop the sun from warming the day to about 64 degrees. Some areas with thinner cloud cover may reach temperatures of 65 or warmer. Even the coast will get in on the warm temps with upper 50s likely if cloud cover stays light. Light rain returns to the Portland/Vancouver area late Saturday and into Sunday. A system approaching the coast will bring some cooler air into the region, and chances of showers. Portland should expect light rain before about noon Sunday, then showers likely during the afternoon. Skies will stay cloudy, and the high temperature will drop to about 57 degrees. Extended forecasts are showing continued showers Monday and temperatures dropping to the low 50s. The overall trend next week will be toward cooler and wetter weather as we head into the middle of the week. The National Weather Service’s weather prediction center shows increased chances of both wet and cold weather across the west through next week.
