British sports bodies have called for a new government action plan to help grassroots survive and thrive amid the Covid-19 crisis, including a commitment to getting people playing and watching sport again “as soon as possible” even in tier 3 and 4 areas.
The letter, signed by the
Football Association, the Rugby Football Union and the
England and Wales
Cricket Board, among others, also urges the government to support a “new year’s resolution” to put activity at the heart of the nation’s recovery from Covid-19 in 2021.
