Covid-19: Numbers nationwide continue to rise, record high of 607 in Sarawak
Malaysia recorded 1,767 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (April 13), with Sarawak topping the list at 607 new Covid-19 infections, the most reported in a single day in the state so far.
The country reported 12 new fatalities, while 1,290 patients were discharged over the 24-hour span.
Nine new Covid-19 clusters were also identified in the country, with the Jalan Puncak Borneo cluster in Sarawak recorded 61 confirmed cases so far.

246 national athletes vaccinated against Covid-19 for Tokyo Olympics
Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican told reporters at the ministry’s mass vaccination programme in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday that the first batch of 246 national athletes would be given the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine during the programme.
He said all the athletes would be given their second dose on May 4, except for the national diving squad.
He said the target was to vaccinate all the athletes who will be competing in the Tokyo Olympic Games, by June this year.

Track cyclist Muhammad Fadhil Mohd Zonis on Tuesday became the first Malaysian athlete to be vaccinated under the Youth and Sports Ministry's National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
