The Kuala Lumpur High Court heard on Monday that the withdrawal of RM17.9 million from Yayasan Akalbudi funds was a criminal breach of trust because it did not get the consent of the other the charity foundation’s board of trustees.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigating officer Muhammad Fazli Zulkifli said the withdrawal of the money from Yayasan Akalbudi’s Affin Bank account to be transferred to a Maybank account belonging to Messrs Lewis & Co, the foundation’s trustee, was instructed by Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The prosecution witness was testifying during re-examination in the trial of Ahmad Zahid who is facing 47 charges, 12 of them for criminal breach of trust , eight for corruption and 27 for money laundering involving tens of millions of ringgit of funds from Yayasan Akalbudi.

Victims of fatal in car-van collision identified
The identities of a married couple who were killed while their two children were injured in a road accident at Jalan Saujana Impian, Kajang, Selangor on Sunday have been identified.
Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said that the two killed in the crash were identified as Remyzan Baharudin, 42, and his wife Suzyla Ahmad Dahlan, 40.
Their children, Raiha Syuhaida Remyzan, 13, and her younger brother Ra'if Adam, seven, sustained head injuries and were treated at the Kajang Hospital.

Khairy: More than 3.8mil people registered; 130k vaccinated thus far
