Goods and services tax collection surpassed the Rs 1 trillion mark for the fifth consecutive month, touching Rs 1.13 trillion in February. The government attributed the robust mop-up to closer monitoring against fake billing, deep data analytics using data from multiple sources, including GST, income tax and Customs IT systems, and effective tax administration.
