Jose Canseco was right about steroids in baseball nearly 15 years ago.
Time will tell about his new allegations against
Alex Rodriguez.
Canseco took swing after swing at A-Rod on Twitter late Sunday night, alleging that the 43-year-old has been cheating on
Jennifer Lopez, with whom he announced his engagement Saturday.
Canseco also challenged Rodriguez to a fight.
“Watching World of Dance watching J.Lo text Alex Rodriguez little does she know that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica (Canseco) poor girl she has no idea who he really is,” Canseco said in a series of four tweets aimed at Rodriguez, who works for the Yankees as a special advisor to owner Hal Steinbrenner.
Canseco admitted to using steroids throughout his 17-year career and exposed them as a plaguing the sport in his 2005 book, “"Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big.”
Rodriguez twice admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs and was suspended all of the 2014 seasons for violating the league’s drug policy.
Rodriguez since undergone a remarkable image overhaul since retiring in 2016, landing high-profile TV gigs such as a baseball analyst for ESPN and Fox. He’s been dating J.Lo for about two years.
“I was there a few months back with her when he called her on her phone,” Canseco tweeted, referring to his ex-wife.
“Alex Rodriguez stop being a piece of (crap) stop cheating on Jennifer Lopez,” Canseco said.
“Alex Rodriguez I challenge you to a boxing match or an MMA match anytime you want.”
Canseco hit 462 homers over his career. He played 37 games with the Yankees in 2000.
Rodriguez won three American League MVP awards over his 22-year career. He played 12 seasons with the Yankees, helping them to a World Series win in 2009.
