After the riveting performance of Andrew Scott in ‘Ripley’ that was released on April 4th, the climax has left viewers and fans across the globe in anticipation as to whether there would be more to the eight-episode adaptation – in other words, would there be a Part 2? ‘Ripley’, the new series is undoubtedly based on a fascinating character created by celebrated novelist Patricia Highsmith in ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’. Andrew Scott takes up the role of Ripley, a scrappy check fraudster in old
New York who is hired to locate a rich arts dilettante in
Italy, but instead kills him and then impersonates him – leading to more trouble, murders and of course more scams. Patricia Highsmith has written five novels, “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, “Ripley Under Ground”, “Ripley’s Game”, “The Boy Who Followed Ripley”, and “Ripley Under Water”. Netflix’s show is based on the first book – and if the debutante series becomes successful, chances are the second, third, fourth, and fifth seasons will be available, so it’s just a matter of time before the
Netflix metrics decide the future of the series trilogy. However, nothing is confirmed yet. At the end of the first show, two rather important characters Dickie Greenleaf and Freddie Miles end up dying but Ripley gets away and escapes death completely scot-free. However, at the end, Inspector Ravini who had been investigating the murders closely and was following it up, figures out that there is something innately tricky and fishy about the scandal. The official release date for the show was on April 4, 2024. ‘Ripley’ is available for streaming on Netflix from April 4th onwards. Are you excited to watch it?
