The success of the enterprise IT programme at last year’s InfoComm has prompted AVIXA to continue the initiative at InfoComm 2024. The trade show, which takes place at the
Las Vegas Convention Center on 8-14 June, will feature a new two-day AVoIP Foundations workshop, plus education sessions on topics such as Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, IT and AV system design and integration, and network design, as well as a meet-up and a show floor tour focused on enterprise IT. In the Combining IT and AV session on 12 June, Legrand AV’s Keri Manasa will present an overview of the market impact created by the
explosion of AV over IT, cloud and IoT solutions. The session will also explore elements of shared networks, VLANs, network management and other developments set to impact IT and AV system design and integration. In the How to Design an AV-over-IP Network session, NETGEAR AV's Laurent Masia will discuss the challenges, best practices and solutions for designing a successful multi-switch AV-over-IP system. On 13 June, Shen, Milsom & Wilke's Jenn Steinhardt will lead the Documentation and Coordination Strategies for Network Design session, which will provide a high-level approach to understanding coordination points between IT, AV and design teams. Later that day, Audinate's Frank Padikkala will demystify the fundamentals of unicast and multicast transmissions, and explore the world of content distribution workflows and industry best practices, in Unicast and Multicast: Maximizing Efficiency in Content Distribution. InfoComm will host a show floor tour led by Jose Mozota of Freman Solutions on Wednesday 12 June from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., focused on key developments in networking and cloud technologies. In addition, the AVIXA Xchange Live, on Booth W2847, will host enterprise technology managers for an IT meet-up on at 10am on 12 June. The Technology Innovation Stage (Booth C8676), meanwhile, will present a trend-forecasting session on enterprise IT at 11.30 on 13 June, focusing on how technology managers are incorporating AI into their IT workflows. Annette Sandler, AVIXA's senior director of live content for the US/Canada, said: “InfoComm 2024 will offer an essential training ground, whether you are an IT tech seeking knowledge of AV systems or an AV tech working on IT systems.” “A baseline professional AV skillset today requires some basic IT competencies, and the same can now be said about IT technicians needing, at minimum, to know how to manage AV on a network, plus some aspects of how AV works in a physical space.” Click here to see the full enterprise IT programme.
