Freddie Flintoff pictured with nearly healed face after horror crash as he shoots new TV show in India
Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff is back to work it seems, with the sports legend meeting young cricketer as he continues to recover from his Top Gear horror crash. The retired cricketer, 46, suffered serious injuries when he crashed at the Dunsfold Park Aerodome in December 2022 while filming the defunct BBC series, with the star retreating from public life in the wake of accident and opting not show how serious his facial injuries were at the time. But over a year on, Freddie is seemingly ready to step back into the spotlight - with the dad-of-four getting back in front of the camera as he returns to his roots and works in the Cricket world once again. In a new snap, Freddie's face seems to have almost healed from the horrific crash. In a post shared by young cricketer Subhajit Naskar on Instagram , Lancashire lad Freddie looks almost back to his old self as he posed with his fan at The Cricket Association of Bengal. "WITH [Great Britain] LEGEND @aflintoff11," Subhajit captioned the snap, adding the hashtag: "#cricketassociationofbengal." Preston-born Freddie recently agreed a deal with the BBC worth about £9 million to makeup for two years' loss of earnings after the near-fatal Top Gear accident which left him with "life-altering significant" injuries. But now, it's said that Freddie is looking towards the future and his latest ventures. Freddie Flintoff is possibly filming his new TV series over in India ( Image: subhajit_c10/Instagram) "This will be a huge comfort to his fans because it shows he's healing well and returning to two of his greatest passions - sport and television," a source told The Sun. The insider also said: "It's obvious that there is some scarring, which everyone expected, but Freddie looks to have made huge progress since he was last seen in public playing cricket. "He's clearly comfortable enough to get in front of a camera again - something which was not the case this time last year. They're nervous first steps, as he's recovering both mentally and physically, but the TV show he's making is a real passion project for him." It's thought that Freddie is currently filming the second series of his BBC reality show, Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams. The first series saw Freddie return to his hometown of Preston to introduce young people to cricket, while the second series will take them to India. The first season came out in July 2022 and the eagerly awaited second season has been held up by Freddie's injuries. A source previously told The Sun on Sunday: "Freddie and staff have been quietly working on it since last month (December). It's a show he feels passionate about and he's excited to be returning to the grassroots of the sport." "It will be his first major TV project in two years. Filming will start in a few months, when it's warmer outside, and will take place in the north of England. A lot of the same production team will be involved in this series so Freddie will feel comfortable ahead of his big telly return." Freddie has been mostly away from the public view since his accident in December 2022. He was filming for Top Gear when the open-top three-wheel Morgan Super 3 car he was driving turned over.
