Shane Crosse will miss the ride on Galileo Chrome in Saturday’s St Leger at Doncaster after testing positive for Covid-19
Tom Marquand, who has yet to ride a winner from 21 starts in
British Group One races, will have an unexpected chance to break his duck after he was booked to ride Joseph O’Brien’s markt mover Galileo Chrome in Saturday’s St Leger. Marquand replaces Shane Crosse, who has been forced to self-isolate after testing positive for
Coronavirus before travelling to the
UK from
Ireland.
Marquand finished second on the 50-1 shot Khalifa Sat in the Derby in July, having been replaced aboard the well-fancied English King by Frankie Dettori. Galileo Chrome, a general 5-1 chance, will be only his second ride at single-figure odds in a British Group One.
