There’s been a fair number of gaffes on MasterChef over the years, but none as great as the one Dominic Littlewood made on the celebrity edition on Wednesday night.
The TV presenter had viewers of the
BBC cookery competition in stitches, after accidentally cooking a plastic timer. The episode saw Dom and hockey player Sam Quek sent to an Indian restaurant where he was tasked with making naan bread.
After failing to get the dough to stick to the outside of the tandoor-style oven, he called the restaurant’s chef over for a helping hand.
However, the chef quickly realised that Dom had dropped the kitchen’s plastic timer into the oven and it was melting on the hot surface.
As they pulled the timer out it burst into flames, Dom joked: “Let’s be honest, chef, this is going spectacularly wrong.”In the battle of @DomLittlewood vs tandoor oven... the tandoor won 🤣Celebrity #MasterChefUK is streaming right now on @BBCiPlayer 👉 https://t.co/63D2aIRs1ipic.twitter.com/UUnv4Pn6Aj— MasterChef

“It doesn’t seem to be getting any easier.”
