Cricket explores the possibility of staging major matches behind closed doors.
As it stands there will be no professional cricket in the
UK before 28 May at the earliest, and the
England and Wales Cricket Board is drafting possible schedules while it waits for the government to give sporting events the green light. There is no guarantee that crowds will be allowed in to grounds when this comes, however. When announcing the delay last week the ECB revealed it was looking into “starting the season behind closed doors” and “giving sports fans the opportunity to watch live broadcast action”.
