US Vice President Mike has announced that the country’s coronavirus travel ban on Europe will be extended to the
UK and
Ireland at midnight EST on Monday (04:00 GMT Tuesday).
It comes immediately after President
Donald Trump said an announcement about this would be forthcoming on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference, Trump was asked about reports that the US travel ban from Europe would be extended to the UK and Ireland.
He said: “We’re looking at it very seriously, yeah, because they’ve had a little bit of activity unfortunately, so we’re going to be looking at that.
“We actually already have looked at it and that is going to be announced.”
