Love Island has sparked a wave of complaints to Ofcom, after a game producers introduced earlier this week.
In Wednesday night’s instalment of the ITV2 reality show, the Islanders played a game where they were shown a string of media headlines about the series, and had to guess which contestants they referred to.
However, many viewers took issue when the Heart headline “Casa Amor cause Callum, Finn and Nas’ heads to turn on tonight’s Love Island” was shown to the group, claiming it wasn’t actually true.
This immediately upset Paige Turley, who has been partnered with Finley Tapp since he entered the villa.Finn, of course, protested his innocence, telling Paige: “The girls [who were in Casa Amor with him] can say what I was like.”
“The paper tells me different,” she responded. “Heart tells me different.”The moment in question sparked 377 complaints to Ofcom, with The Sun reporting that viewers were upset that producers would include a headline that wasn’t true to provoke drama in the villa.

Love Island for comment.Similar incidents in past series of Love Island have also sparked Ofcom complaints, most notably in series four, when Dani Dyer was distressed after being shown a video clip of then-boyfriend Jack Fincham in Casa Amor with his ex.
What Dani didn’t see, though, was that Jack spent his entire time in Casa Amor pining for her, even sleeping in the garden so he wouldn’t have to share a bed with anyone other than her.
This year’s headline game replaced a similar game involving viewers’ tweets, which was scrapped ahead of the first ever summer series of Love Island.
