With the likes of Lizzo, Billie Eilish,
Ariana Grande and Lil Nas X, the
Grammys red carpet was awash with stars – but we were certainly not expecting to see a former member of The Saturdays among them.

Sure, the girlband made a valuable contribution to the pop landscape with bops like What About Us? and All Fired Up, but they haven’t been musically active since 2014.
Therefore, Mollie King’s appearance at Sunday night’s US awards show left many fans shocked after she was seen walking the red carpet. The singer, who is now a Radio 1 DJ, was seen posing for the cameras outside the Staples Centre in
Los Angeles after bagging herself the hottest ticket in town. Now, her spokesperson confirmed she was not there in a work capacity, and was just there to let her Hair Down (if you know, you know), but it’s fair to say people had not anticipated seeing her there...How is Mollie king at the #GRAMMYs— I DON'T KNOW HER (@I_Dont_Know_Her) January 27, 2020Wtf mollie king’s at the Grammys— adam robert (@FairyGodhooker) January 27, 2020WHY WAS MOLLIE KING AT THE GRAMMYS— ٌ (@KeshY0U) January 27, 2020Although one person had a very serious suggestion as to why she might be in attendance...‘Hair Down’ by Mollie King has won the #GRAMMYs for Best Pop Solo Performance.Congratulations, @MollieKing! 🍾 pic.twitter.com/79cnzzv2Qp— Sharon Watts. She released two solo singles, Back To You and Hair Down, between 2016 and 2017, but neither charted inside the top 40.
After a stint on
Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, Mollie has guest presented Blue Peter and This Morning, and now co-hosts the 6.30am-10am slot on Radio 1 every Friday to Sunday alongside Matt Edmondson.
