A mum shaved the word ‘elf’ into the back of her son’s head – and then blamed Elf on the Shelf.Having used the tradition to entertain her youngest daughter, Tegan, seven, during the festive period for three years now, Amanda Johns, 39, decided to step her daily pranks up – at the expense of her son Iestyn, 16.The mum-of-three asked her son to miss his weekly barbers’ appointment as she had an idea up her sleeve. While Iestyn posed as though he was sleeping, Johns carefully shaved the world ‘elf’ on to the back of his head with clippers and posed up the elf for Tegan to see in the morning – on Friday 13 December (of all days).Related... Facebook and everyone was shocked.“They thought I had actually shaved his hair in his sleep, but I am not that cruel.“He is the best big brother and will do anything to make his little sister smile – she looks forward to the elf’s antic every morning.“She runs into my room and asks, ‘where is the elf?!’ but when she found him in Iestyn’s room with the clippers she was flabbergasted.”
Johns added that she’s always thinking of new ideas for the elf, and planned this one a week in advance. “It is completely worth it to see Tegan’s face light up in the morning,” she said.
“I have previously replaced every photo in the house with a photo of elf and given Iestyn a makeover. When Tegan had a cold, I put a skeleton on the sofa, and she believed he caught the ‘elf flu’ and needed lots of chocolate to make him better.“It is great fun for all of us.”Related...
