Three Men Stabbed To Death In London In Fewer Than 48 Hours
None of the men have been identified, and in two cases no arrests have yet been made.
In the first of what would be three separate fatal knife attacks across the weekend, and 27-year-old man was stabbed to death at a house party in Whitechapel. Three others were injured during a fight which broke out during the party at an address on Buckle Street early on Saturday morning.
Seven people have been arrested, six of which aged between 23 and 29 are being held in custody, and another, aged 26, is in hospital after being injured.
The Metropolitan police have appealed for any witnesses to come forward. What’s going on in #eastlondon - 14 police cars, 3 territorial support vans, 2 ambulances and 3 paramedic cars pic.twitter.com/WJ1BX2EHDa— Dave Chawner (@DaveChawner) November 23, 2019Detective Inspector Will White said: “Were you there when the fight started? Do you know what it was about?
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was at the party in Buckle Street on Saturday.
“Even if you think you have nothing to offer, please do make the call.
“You may have information that confirms something we have been told or you may hold information that is vital to the investigation.”Fewer than 24 hours later in Ealing, West London, a man was found stabbed to death following a car crash.
Detectives believe the victim, 26, was injured in an altercation 100 metres away from West Ealing railway station before the collision and are not treating the incident as a “road rage” attack.
Ruth Holmstock, 72, whose flat overlooks the scene of the crash, said she heard a single “thump”.
“It was one of those ‘oh f***’ sort of crunches,” she said. “The sort of noise you make when you reverse into a gate, but it was loud enough to make me go and see what it was.
“There were a lot of people hanging around. It looked like any other crash, like they were swapping insurance details.”
Police were called shortly before 1.20am on Sunday and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after he was found in a car suffering from a stab wound.
A picture of the scene appeared to show a saloon car which had been hit by a Mini positioned sideways across Drayton Green Road.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said: “We believe the victim was involved in an altercation 100 metres from the railway station on The Avenue.
“This is a busy street with a number of shops and restaurants and if anybody was in the area and saw something, no matter how small, I would urge them to contact police.”
Holmstock said she saw five police cars, along with an ambulance and other medics’ vehicles.
She said there was no sign of any injuries at first and police had removed someone from the car.
“I would never have dreamt that there was anyone injured,” she continued.
“There was nothing to see. I was really surprised when the police got here.
“One minute the road was empty and the next minute they were doing CPR on someone.”The victim has not yet been formally identified, but Scotland Yard said his family have been told.
No arrests have been made and a post-mortem examination has not yet been carried out to determine the cause of death.
Just hours later, police on the other side of the city were called to Ilford in East London to reports of a fight.
A 24-year old man later died in hospital after being stabbed during the altercation.
A statement said: “Police were called to Telegraph Mews, Seven Kings at 6.10am on Sunday November 24 to reports of a group of people fighting. Officers attended.
“Nobody with any stab injuries was found at the location but, a short time later, officers were called to Ilford Lane to reports of a 24-year-old man with stab injuries.
“He was taken to hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead at 12.36pm.”
Another man in his 20s was also taken to an east London hospital with stab injuries, believed to be linked to the incident at Telegraph Mews.
His condition has been assessed as non-life threatening.
The Metropolitan Police said no arrests had yet been made. Related...
