Derry Girls fans will know that the girls are always getting themselves into various sticky situations, so the cast’s turn in the Bake Off tent is sure to be a real treat.
It has been revealed the stars of the Channel 4 sitcom are set to take part in a New Year special of The Great
British Bake Off.
Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Nicola Coughlan, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Dylan Llewellyn and Siobhan McSweeney will all be attempting to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul
Hollywood as they’re put through their baking paces.
And by the sound of things, filming didn’t go too well as Nicola – who plays Clare – has said she is now triggered when she thinks about fondant icing. She wrote: “The News is Out! #DerryGirls do #BakeOff!!! Tune in on New Years Day to see if we burn down the tent.”
She then added: “Yes I now have PTSD when I think about fondant icing.”🎂The News is Out!🎂#DerryGirls do #BakeOff!!!Tune in on New Years Day to see if we burn down the tent 🍰 #GBBOpic.twitter.com/WXaqwRPB5q— Nicola Coughlan (@nicolacoughlan) November 7, 2019To answer some of your questions:-Yes it will air in the States (I dunno when I’ll tell you as soon as I do)- Yes I now have PTSD when I think about fondant icing— Nicola Coughlan (@nicolacoughlan) November 8, 2019Previous festive specials of Bake Off have seen former contestants return to the tent in an attempt to win the title of Festive Star Baker.
