Eddie Jones’s side spent much of the game within a converted try of taking the lead but could not get on the front foot, before South Africa’s backs sprung into life with 12 minutes to go. Mapimpi first completed a flowing move for his sixth try of the tournament – and his nation’s first in a World Cup final – and Kolbe added another as the scoreline pulled out.
