Police arrested a suspect at Manchester’s Arndale shopping centre on Friday evening after reports emerged of a man armed with a knife.
According to eyewitness reports, shoppers and staff alike were evacuated from the area as
police descended – just a week on from a knife attack inside the busy shopping centre which saw four people rushed to hospital.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said on Friday evening: “Police remain in attendance at Manchester Arndale Centre following reports of a man with a knife.
