• Daughter of Frankel remains favourite for 1,000 Guineas• ‘She fought like a good’un,’ says young jockey Jason Watson
It was not quite a victory achieved with a flourish but Quadrilateral maintained her unbeaten record and her position as the favourite for next year’s 1,000 Guineas yesterday with a narrow success in the Group One Fillies’ Mile that looked unlikely with three furlongs to run.
At that stage Quadrilateral was only mid-division and apparently struggling to bridge the gap as the leaders started to kick for home. “I thought, we’re not going well, we’re coming off the bridle and it’s not going to happen,” Roger Charlton, the winner’s trainer, said.
