Len Goodman might not be judging
Strictly Come Dancing any more, but he’s still living up to his grumpy reputation over on the US version.
The Head Judge has shocked viewers after warning a contestant “not to touch him again” after they went in for a high five during the most recent episode.Former Fifth Harmony singer Ally Brooke was receiving her critiques about her Rumba when she got excited about Len’s positive remarks and ran over to the judges’ desk to give him a high five.
But despite praising her performance, he was in no mood for her excitement, saying: “Don’t get overwhelmed.”
He then pointed at her and sternly warned her: “Don’t touch me again.”
A confused Ally responded: “I gave you a high five?”Fans of @DancingABC are calling out judge Len Goodman for ‘disrespecting’ @AllyBrooke on last night’s episode:“Don’t touch me again!” pic.twitter.com/BIfKIQGSaT— Pop Crave (@PopCraveMusic) October 1, 2019It wasn’t clear whether or not Len was having a bit of a joke, but his tone did not sit well with some viewers, who branded him “rude”. @DancingABC Len Goodman’s comments to Ally tonight were unacceptable and the Producers need to check his attitude. Ally trying to high give him and he says “don’t touch me again!” Disgusting!— Laurie P (@bonnielass25) October 1, 2019#DWTS Why does Len Goodman need to be a prick because Allie high fived him and say "Don't touch me!". Wtf?!— Colleen Dragon🐉 (@ColleensDragon) October 1, 2019Watching #DWTS & absolutely hated the way Len Goodman treated @AllyBrooke. She was clearly excited & proud of her dance. To tell someone “Don’t ever touch me again” in the tone he did was outright disrespectful. You may be an expert but that was awful behavior. Shame on you.— Emily Ann (@milymonsterr) October 1, 2019@DancingABC I am SHOCKED at Len Goodman’s comment to Ally ‘don’t ever touch me again’. WHY didn’t he apologize for being SUCH A RUDE clown. She just gives him a high-five on one hand. Ally deserves an apology from him AND the show. Absolutely ridiculous!!— Christina Gay (@CL_Gay) October 1, 2019@DancingABC Len Goodman’s comments to Ally tonight were unacceptable and the Producers need to check his attitude. Ally trying to high give him and he says “don’t touch me again!” Disgusting!— Laurie P (@bonnielass25) October 1, 2019Not saying any celeb should have to justify their actions/words, but it would be cool if Len Goodman could say if he was joking or not; even if he’s just kidding, ally looked embarrassed #DWTS— the blondest 🌹🥂🖕🏼 (@blondebalayage) October 1, 2019@ABCNetworkRe DWTS Len Goodman’s comment to Ally today was insulting! He needs to go or offer an on air apology.— Ethlyn Ferdinand (@nuferd) October 1, 2019Len has yet to address his comments to Ally, but they didn’t look to have affected her too much, judging by her
Instagram Story.
The singer said she was “so happy” after her and partner Sasha Farber’s dance scored 24 points out of a possible 30, thanking the judges.
