Kabul arts cafe, and soon Tajikistan would send them back. As their choices narrowed, the Fazilis consulted with Emelie Mahdavian, a California-based documentarian they met in Tajikistan, on the possibility of documenting their journey with the only equipment available: their mobile phones.
