With his unexpected and somewhat insightful take on
Brexit, Mr Blobby has arguably been the most iconic guest in recent Loose
Women history.
So, as the ITV panel show celebrated its 20th birthday on Friday, it was only right that the pink-and-yellow-spotted anarchist was there to join in the fun.
However, things took a bit of a turn when Blobby lost an eye during the chaos he managed to create. The iconic kids’ TV character was brought on as part of a special 20th anniversary quiz, in which a blindfolded Carol McGiffin was asked guess the object.
After McGiff correctly identified him, he took the panellist out when then both of them ended up on the floor. The other Loose Women in absolute hysterics at the sight of the pair having an impromptu roll about, and is if things weren’t chaotic enough, when Blobby jumped back up, viewers were disturbed to see that he’d lost an eye...I'm sad to report that mr blobby sadly lost an eye on #LooseWomen today after a vicious attack from Carol mcgiffin #Ripblobbyseye— alastair SAFC (@aliboy32) September 6, 2019Just now on Loose Women, Mr Blobby dryhumped Carol McGiffin so hard that his eye came off.— queef chegwin (@mexicanpony) September 6, 2019Also, mr blobby has lost an eye and I feel really sorry for him, brutal attack on loose women pic.twitter.com/cLF5LzbyMT— Dave (@DavidMackayy) September 6, 2019@loosewomen@McGiff OMG 😯 What just happened to poor Carol McGiffin! Elsewhere on the special anniversary show, the show’s four anchors – Kaye Adams, Andrea McLean, Ruth Langsford and Christine Lampard – were brought together on the panel for the first time.
Stacey Solomon also returned to the show for the first time since giving birth to son Rex earlier this year. Look who's here! @StaceySolomon has popped in with baby Rex 😍🍼#loosewomen20pic.twitter.com/8Fhr4nVc7O— Loose Women (@loosewomen) September 6, 2019There was also an, ahem, emotional performance of Thank You For Being A Friend from Stacey, Brenda Edwards, Kellie Bryan and Denise Welch.
In all, it was a rather fitting tribute to 20 years of Loose Women, we’re sure you’ll agree.
