A Strictly Come Dancing spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by HuffPost UK. Jamie’s apparent fall wasn’t the only incident during the taping of this year’s Strictly launch show, with judge Craig Revel Horwood also having to apologise after a joke he made at the expense of reigning champion Stacey Dooley.
After Stacey and professional dancer Kevin Clifton performed together one last time, Craig remarked: “Stacey was dragged up from the dance gutter... of course, if you sleep with your dance partner that helps.”
He later said: “I’m deeply sorry for the offence caused to Kevin and Stacey and everyone who works on the show.
“I recognise that what I said was hurtful, cruel and incredibly disrespectful. It was a huge error of judgment that I very much regret.”
