A teenager has pleaded guilty to the murder of ‘kind and caring’ schoolgirl Ellie Gould earlier this year.
The 17-year-old boy, who was today named as Thomas Griffiths, appeared this morning at Bristol Crown Court following Ellie’s death on Friday, May 3.
The Year 12 pupil at Hardenhuish School, Chippenham, died as a result of stab wounds at a house in Calne, Wiltshire.
Her family previously described the keen horse rider as “a kind, caring young lady with a wonderful, fun personality”.
In a statement released shortly after the incident a spokesperson for the school said the community was “shocked and saddened” by her death.
“Ellie was a talented, popular and much-loved member of our school community who will be dearly missed,” the school said.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with Ellie’s family at this devastating time.”
