Love Island bosses have responded to the latest accusations about contestants being “forced” into certain relationships.
Love Island Bosses Deny Jordan Was Forced Into Romance With India
On Wednesday, The Sun reported that Jordan Hames had been “pushed into” admitting his head had been turned by newcomer India Reynolds, leading to a huge showdown between him and Anna Vakili.
According to the tabloid, the conversation was deliberately engineered by producers, who suggested to him that he’d have a better chance of winning the show with India than Anna. However, a rep for Love Island has now insisted there’s “no truth” to this claim.
A spokesperson told HuffPost UK: “The opinions [contestants] have and relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.”Two weeks ago, Love Island producers were forced to address a similar accusation, after Maura Higgins expressed her seemingly sudden interest in Curtis Pritchard.
Responding to the suggestion that producers were responsible for Maura putting the moves on Curtis, a Love Island rep gave us the same statement, insisting once again that the Islanders make their own decisions about who to couple up with.
Seven couples currently remain in the Love Island villa, with not long to go until this year’s winning pair is crowned on Monday night.
They are expected to be whittled down in the days to come, with Francesca and Michael having already been shown the door earlier this week.
Fans disappointed at the end of the series have been given a lifeline by ITV though, with a brand new winter series coming early in 2020, ahead of the usual summer run.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.MORE LOVE ISLAND...
