Labour MP Emily Thornberry is receiving treatment in hospital after coming off her bike in an accident as she left parliament.
The shadow foreign secretary was involved in a collision with a vehicle as she rode around parliament square around lunchtime today.
Police and an ambulance attended the scene and the Islington South and Finsbury MP was taken to hospital.
A spokesman for Thornberry said: “Emily is recovering in hospital, and is hugely grateful for the support of the ambulance crew and A&E staff who have helped her since this accident.
“We hope she will be back on her feet, back to work, and back on her bike as soon as possible.”Related... Motorists Should Experience Cycling On The Road If We Are To Make The Roads Safer I Was Terrified Of Getting A Road Bike, But I Haven’t Looked Back
