Justin Bieber has responded to Donald Trump’s declaration that he will work to help free A$AP Rocky, who is being detained in Sweden.
The rapper and two associates are being held in Stockholm after an alleged altercation with fans who had been harassing them. While stating that he “appreciates” the president’s decision to help A$AP, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, Justin is asking him to focus on another issue.
Referencing child migrants who are being detained in the US, he wrote: “I want my friend out.. I appreciate you trying to help him. In recent months, the Trump administration has faced a barrage of criticism over conditions inside many of the facilities, amid multiple reports they are overcrowded and underfunded. On Friday, the president revealed he has spoken to
Kanye West about “his friend” A$AP Rocky’s incarceration.
A$AP’s manager, John Ehmann, said on social media that his client and the two other men were being held under “inhumane conditions”, including solitary confinement.
“I will be calling the very talented Prime Minister of
Sweden to see what we can do about helping A$AP Rocky,” Trump wrote. “So many people would like to see this quickly resolved!”
