Good morning, Angels. Sony dropped a first look at the upcoming “Charlie’s Angels” reboot from director Elizabeth Banks.
The action-packed trailer, set to a new single from Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and Lana Del Rey, sees a new generation —
Kristen Stewart,
Ella Balinska and
Naomi Scott — working for the mysterious Charles Townsend.
“I think women can do anything,” Stewart’s character tells a wealthy businessman, who responds, “Just because they can doesn’t mean they should.”
“But I have so many talents,” she coyly says before unleashing a set of killer moves to take him down.
This go-around, Charlie’s top-secret agency has gone global, and teams of Angels are guided by multiple Bosleys taking on dangerous missions.
“We exist because traditional law enforcement can’t keep up,” Banks, who plays one of the many Bosleys, explains to the dynamic trio. Cue the wigs, toys, clothes, and potentially explosive mints.
“Charlie’s Angels,” based on the TV series, is the third installment in the film franchise following 2000’s “Charlie’s Angels” and 2003’s “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” with Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu. The reboot also stars Noah Centineo, Sam Claflin and Patrick Stewart.
“Charlie’s Angels” hits theaters on Nov. 15.
