The
Houston Rockets may be only a secondary concern for the
Golden State Warriors after Warriors star
Kevin Durant suffered a leg injury Wednesday night in Game 5 of the
Western Conference semifinals at
Oracle Arena.
After making a 15-foot jump shot with 2:11 to play in the third quarter, Durant landed, turned upcourt and suddenly looked down at his right leg.
He then grabbed his lower leg with his right hand, hobbled off the court and to the locker room. He did not return as the fourth quarter started with the Warriors and Rockets tied 72-72.
The Warriors later ruled Durant out for the game with what they called a calf strain.
At the time of Durant’s injury, he had a team-high 22 points to go along with five rebounds and four assist.
Durant's absence, should it be more than just Game 5, could have a devastating impact on the Warriors hopes of winning a third straight
NBA title.
