Ariana Grande has got
Sharon Osbourne in her corner in her battle with Grammy Awards producers.
“Nobody tells @ArianaGrande what to sing,” the Osbourne matriarch tweeted on Friday night. “I’m so proud of you for standing up to those antiquated old farts who produce the #Grammy Awards telecast and run the Recording Academy.”
The support from “The Talk” co-host comes a day after the pop singer blasted the award show’s producer, Ken Ehrlich, who claimed she wasn’t performing at Sunday’s show because she wasn’t prepared.
“As my kids would say ‘they’re all dinosaurs!'” Osbourne concluded in her rant against the
Grammys team.
On Thursday, Grande specifically called out Ehrlich for being quoted saying that she could not “pull something together” in time.
“I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me,” she wrote in a Twitter thread. “I can pull together a performance over night [sic] and you know that, Ken. it was when my creativity & self expression was stifled by you, that i decided not to attend.”
Another mom that chimed in to defend Grande was her own mother, Joan.
“I’m so proud of you… & as Ken stated you were never ever confirmed to perform, but yet articles state that you pulled out of the performance (WRONG) ALSO, knowing there was no agreement to perform, [Ariana is] in all the ads for the show, that’s exploitive!” she tweeted.
Grande is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for her single “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Sweetener.”
